As a IL resident, huh? Once you get outside Cook county it is not much of an issue.

Received today new AR magazines and tried to load them.
And here I got one idea that I can try to use AK magazine loader made by NCStar. And it is worked just fine as loading AK magazines - same way!!! Used clipper strip and loader.

picture this.. line up a bunch of 7.62x39mm cartridges side by side.. note the curvature theyll create due to the taper of the cases.. then draw two straight vertical lines to represent the straight magwell of an AR15.. now try figuring out how youre going to get those cartridges into a straight taper smoothly that isnt going to cause feeding issues.. then ask yourself, do you really want to give up an AK for an AR15 upper?

if youre subject to AWB laws.. get one thats legal in the state if its not legal to modify the one you already have

My AR mags is banana shape, not straight it is C-products Magazines.
I did not modified any of those, just used AK loader to load AR magazines.

While your observation about the round taper is accurate, it's not entirely accurate to assert that it's a show stopper issue in the AR mag well. I've got easily 10k rounds through various 7.62x39 chambered ARs, and I can count on one hand (using no thumb and only one finger) the number of feed issues that I've had using the last/latest generation of C-Products/ASC mags. They work 100% for me using brass cases ammo as shipped, and require the Wolff AK mag spring to work 100% for me using steel cases ammo.

Why bother? To get the stopping power available in 7.62x39 SP ammo in an ergonomic optic friendly and accurate platform. My second 7.62x39 AR build was a 16" M1S special that I used to hunt deer and hog with for a decade. Inside of 250 yards, if I saw it and had a shot - it was dead (including a 500lb boar), using nothing more special than Sierra 125gr SPs.

I've tried side rail optics and gas tube optics on my AKs, and frankly they suck at providing proper cheek weld and accuracy. My milled Nork was the most accurate, and it was only 3MOA on a good day, compared to solidly MOA to one and a half MOA out of my AR builds. Bolt life is shorter, but swapping out a $69 bolt every 3K rounds isn't a big deal to me, and is trivial in the actual long term cost picture of using the rifle.

That is reason enough for me.

I'm with ya rbernie. I broke one bolt in my x39 AR and that was when hammering that rifle at plate shoots. I keep a spare bolt in the stock of my x39 when using it for hog shooting but I doubt I will ever need it since I don't shoot steel any longer.
I pull the bullets on Barnul steel case ammo and replace them with Winchester 123gr Power Points. Great accuracy and I have never had to shoot a hog more than once with that cartridge.

C Products, AR Stoner, or ASC mags work fine for me.
