Best bang for the buck power trimmer?

I'm looking for recommendations for the best power case trimmer setup for the money. I was planning on buying a Giraud but just can't bring myself to spend that much money now.

I want to reload primarily for my AR, M1A, and Garand. So I need something resonably fast that can trim enough cases to feed these hungry autoloading rifles.

I am leaning towards one of the various crank type trimmers that are modified to use a power drill. There are so many brands though, Lyman, Forster, RCBS, Redding, etc. Is one better than the other in terms of speed, ease of use, or accuracy? Thanks!

For what you're trimming I'd use one of the drill trimmers. THe Possum Hollow style that space off the shoulder are EXTREMELY fast and precise enough for any AR, M1A, Garand shooting. $20/ trimmer is reasonable too. Youtube has videos of people using them. You can trim 100 pcs in minutes with these things.

I do have the Lyman Universal Trimmer with the power drill attachment. It works good with no complaints (beceids my cutter daul). If i was to buy another, I'd look into the ones that you yse a drill press.

I have a Giraud, having upgraded from a drill-powered-Forster. I still use the Forster for runs of just a couple hundred cases. For a couple thousand cases, get a Giraud.

RCBS has a small self-powered trimmer that has heads available that trim, inside & outside chamfer at the same time. You might want to ask about them.

I just bought a power adaptor for my Wilson trimmer ($13 from Sinclair). Wish I had done it a long time ago.

Spring for the giraud. You'll never regret it. I wish I could have had one for the last 35 years. But it is expensive.......

giraud-it is expensive, but once you get one, you will forget all about what you paid for it after trimming a few.

The Possum Hollow chucked into a bench top drill press is hard to beat. This is especially true if you'll use a RCBS X-Die resizer, because I have found that you only have to trim once in the life of the brass. I would rather spend $40 on a resizing die and $20 for a Possum Hollow trimer then a couple hundred on a power trimmer I'll seldom use. I can trim a 1,000 rounds in an hour and half with the Possum Hollow chucked into my drill press.

I vouch for the Lee with ball handle and power attachment.

I can really go fast. I was using the Lee zip trim but get exhausted after a while.

Lee is not adjustable, unless you modify the case gage.

Dittos on the RCBS with trim-pro 3 way cutter.....a real time saver.

I did a bunch of .223 over last 2 nights with Lee stuff and Redding flash hole debur tool. Several others make the debur tool, like RCBS, Hart, etc.

There was a lot of crap in the Remington flash hole. The Lapua, Norma, Nosler stuff remove it or flash hole is drilled, so you don't need to do this step on those brands.
