I never find deals like this.

$185 got me S&W nickle 19-4 pinned and recessed, extra Hogue grip, snapcaps a cheap OWB holster and a HKS Speedloader. The gun is in nice shape. locks up tight, good triggerand the finish is REALLY shiny.

SN is 57k3xxx if somebody could give me a born on date I'd really appriciate it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE..............

Is there any special care needed for the nickle finish? Solvents to avoid? How does it get along with kydex holsters?

That deal is obscene!! Why wasn't I notified!!:D Sure seems you lucked out big time!

There are measures needed to be careful with the Ni plating .. but as I have no guns with that finish ... I forget!! Someone will I am sure be along to remedy my poor memory!

That's a @#$%^&! of a deal!

Nickel-plated guns shouldn't be cleaned with solvents containing ammonia, since it can attack the copper that's often plated beneath the nickel. Hoppe's No. 9 contains lots of ammonia. I don't know what other solvents do, too, but that would be one to avoid.

Boy, did you get lucky on that one! Congratulations!

As far as cleaning is concerned, ditto what others have said about avoiding anything with ammonia. Kydex holsters are NOT a good idea with a nickel finish - it's fairly soft compared to hard chrome or steel, and will scratch relatively easily. A piece of grit on a kydex holster surface can mark it quickly. If you do want to use it with kydex, make sure (often!) that the kydex is dust- and grit-free.

Boy, did you get taken. Tell you what, I hate to see another forum member being taken advantage of. There is this guy I don't like and I don't mind screwing him out of money so if you send me the gun I'll get your $185 back from him.

Maybe it's just the perspective of the photo , but that really looks like a 5" barrel to me. If it is and it's original and factory nickel take how good of a deal you thought it was before and multiply that times 3 or more. Measure it from the rear of the forcing cone for us please. Ray

You can use FLITZ to clean and MOTHERS CHROME POLISH to make it shine,Both do an excellent job and are safe to use on your nickel gun.
f.t.

Toss out or sell off that Kydex rig.

AND measure that barrel!:D

Sorry guys it's 4 inches.

BT thanks for the date. I was in first grage when the made it.
:D

This is killing me----- I don't think I'm going to get time to shoot it until Tuesday.

Now the search for leather and grips begins................
