Hi, I just purchased couple new handguns and will be receiving them next week. I am fairly new to handguns and I am not sure what would be the best handgun ammo to purchase for a home defense type of round. I have been reading lot of good things about Corbon, but also I have heard some people who had problems cycling their guns using this hot type of round.
I would like to know what people's suggetsions are about using Corbon DPX 115gr 9mm bullets for a HD round for my Sig P229 Elite gun. The Sig P229 Elite gun is the compact model with a slightly smaller barrel and frame, compared to the 226 which is the full size model.
As far as my, S&W M&P 45, I am considering either getting the 160gr or 185 Corbon DPX ammo for HD. Can anyone tell me the difference between using the 160 to the 185grain? Is it noticeable by any means? I have a full size 4.5 inch barrel S&W M&P 45 and I am not sure which type of ammo would perform best out of it.
For home defense and as my conceal carry ammo, I would like the best quality ammo I can get, since these would be the bullets I use in a life threatening situation.
If anyone has any other suggestions of better or equal quality and cheaper ammo, I appreciate to know that too. I also like to hear people's experiences with ammo for these guns.
Finally , can anyone tell me the difference between Thunder RancH Corbon DPX and the regular Corbon DPX? Is it worth the extra couple bucks?
