I noticed that when discussing pistols comments are always made concerning whether it has a "good" or "bad" trigger.

So what pistols have the best double action trigger out of the box?

My vote is for S&W, of course my 75B is breaking nicely.

Try a steel-framed Kahr.

An E-9, K-9, MK-9, or T-9, especially with the Elite package. Very smooth, no stacking, all the way to the "bang". :D

I'd have to rate the Para-Ordnance LDA trigger as the best I've felt, closely followed by the Kahr triggers (nod to Gewehr98 here! ) and the Springfield XD's in third place.

Para LDA.

I don't care for the long pull of DA triggers. I had an LDA and swapped it. But the Para trigger impressed me enough I'm reconsidering getting a Para Carry.

Smoke

I recently picked up an ASAI ONE PRO in .45 acp. (This is a Swiss-made CZ clone, imported by Magnum Research.)

It has the lightest, smoothest double-action trigger I've ever felt that WILL STILL IGNITE THE PRIMER every time. The SA trigger is very nice, too.

This particular one is VERY accurate -- especially if someone else is shooting it. <sigh>

Hmmm .. maybe this should still be auto oriented but gotta say .. if you want total warm and soft butter ... this M28-2 has it. It was worked on and hammer bobbed ..... and you'd have to shoot this too know.

Current carry piece .. with CT grips .... what a dream. :)

Sorry, but the M82 doesn't qualify here, I originally said out of the box, and I'm only interested in the best double action on semi-auto's. Nice revolver though!

Thanks

Oops . sorry Redhat!! Bit too skimpy on the reading I guess. I will be honest ... the ''outa the box'' did not register .. Duh!!

There was one revo tho .. yep ... a Taurus ... M66 ... sweet as you'd not believe ... out the box!

Sorry to ''revo'' the thread dude!:p

I have no auto-loader that was genuinely sweet out the box . I accept them for what they are.. but I was, gotta say ... surprised that my Mak was VERY acceptable ... as is. Great piece.

Of the ones I have tried, one CZ-75B comes to mind. However my vote is undermined by the fact that I have also fired one that was horrible. Inconsistent manufacture makes for a crap shoot there. Sample to sample, I'd vote for the SIG P226. There the problem for me is the high bore axis though.

Then again, no DA auto feels as good as my common Ruger GP 100, which in turn is not as smooth as a typical S&W. Both are better than any DA auto I have tried.

This thread is just making me want a NRM Colt 1911.:D

LDA is light, but not what I'd call "good."

Kahr K9 is the best stock autoloader DA trigger I've tried.

The Glocks :neener:! My G34 has an out of the box ~5# trigger. The box said 3.5# but they were wrong. With use it has gotten better.

Glocks aren't double action.

I don't know what H&K P2000 you fired, but the one I shot had the worst trigger I've ever felt. The regular USP's are a little better.

I like my FN Forty-Nine. Nice and smooth although it wouldn't bother me if it were a bit lighter.

S&W Model 15 Combat Masterpiece after about 10,000 rounds.

In autoloaders the winner would be Kahr.

Happyguy:D

I really like the LDA trigger on my Para, too bad I can't carry it until it performs better, but that is another story.

Not sure you can compare the LDA with true DA pistols though, because the trigger alone can't cock and fire the gun.
