It simply stopped extracting the fired case. I figured it might be the extractor, but we solved that with a gun swap and I was back to shooting an H&K.
We had some other problems with the H&K, our officers posted in the marine unit found that their guns rusted badly. They were on the sea water or docks all the time, so it did not surprise me.
I also noticed that the pins in the receiver sometimes backed out of their position.and would block the slide when I re-assembled the gun.

I think I had about 5,000 to 6,000 round through it.

This one started out as a DAO 92D (note the lack of safety levers), but had a DA/SA hammer and sear added at some point.

By far my most used for many years was a S&W 5946, steel DAO. Shoot it well.

Backup/small/summer is still a Kahr. I shoot all these smooth long triggers well.

I also am not super excited about parsing them too narrowly. Many like to say this striker or that is pre-cocked etc. Well many DAO autoloaders are also pre-cocked, and do not have restrike, so are not /truly/ DA but... whatever.

The best shooting true DAO…2nd stirke capability…I’ve ever shot was a SIG 229 with the DAK trigger system. It really felt like a S&W K-frame. This was closely followed by the SIG 250…nice trigger but not as accurate.

My current carry striker pistol is a Kahr CW9. With it’s trigger cleaned up, it feels like a tuned S&W K-frame

I know lots who HATE the DAK. Funniest one being my partner at a Vickers class who had to borrow a gun, so ended up with this trigger system he'd never used (his friend was a Coastie, that was the new issued gun). Complained the whole time: High pistol. He was very good, but also they shoot just fine, as did all the DA action combat revolvers despite the 1911 and SA revolver crowd sorta looking on anything but glass rod break with derision.

My Kahr is simply old and shot/clicked a lot vs sent off for smithing, but yeah, that smooth long trigger is not much different from my very old Model 19.

The biggest benefit of this type of trigger is the 2nd strike and the ability to thumb press check the bobbed hammer during re-holstering to detect any trigger movement.
Another plus is the short reset for any shots after the 1st.
