I think it's hard to beat a S&W centennial airweight in the conceal and carry department. I like the 642 myself for extra corrosion resistance and more visible sights in low light.

If a gunsmith is available the Ruger Security Six can be rechambered to .357. If used Rugers are available there was a 2.75" Security Six made with adjustable sights.

Without a quote, I am not sure of the context of your posts, but wonder if you are confusing the Police Service Six with the Security Six. Security usually connotes .357 Magnum and adjustable sights, while Service connotes .38 Special with fixed (more or less none) sights, a point and shoot gun. There are supposedly production exceptions with both models.

As far as the 2.75 barrel Security Six, there is a New Old Stock specimen looking for a home on Gunbroker. It has been listed at least twice and may be up again, looking for more than $550.

I really like my snub 66's, they can be CC carried with minimal printing.

Extremely accurate snubs

They can be had for $400 - $550 when you can find one. But I read recently that S&W has reintroduced the 66, internal lock of course.

There are a bunch of different type holsters that fit them, so your carry options are just about endless. I prefer cross draw carried on a

6 rounds of full tilt SD, or 38+p

Then there is the S&W M10. I have a 10-5, great and accurate piece.

6 rounds of +p will take of just about any threat. I love mine.

They can be had for about $200 +/- $50

Or, if you don't mind carrying a boat anchor, the Taurus 608 gives you 8 rounds of .357 / 38. I don't carry mine very often, it really is a heavy piece of SS. And I just learned that there are speed strips and speed loaders available if you desire 16 more rounds on your person.

My EDC is a 6906. When i do carry a revolver, the 640 is it. I like the 642 for weight but +P feels better in this. Those showing N Frames or Ruger Alaskans for EDC are awesome. Joe
