I'm wanting to get some ideas for a GOOD one piece scope mount for an AR that is light weight yet sturdy. I don't want to spend a lot of money, but have been looking at the Nikon 223 mount and a Vortex, but want to get your opinion before purchase.

Thanks.

I don't own one (yet) but the Aero Precision mount appears to be popular at around $89...

I have the nikon one piece mount. I don't know about how it compares as far as weight but it has served me well. Solid no problems.

M1key, I do like the looks of that mount. Thanks!

Is my request one I should be considering? Not that I take my AR "out in the field", but I wonder if the Aero will be able to handle potential "rough handling".

Have heard a lot of good reviews of Burris AR PEPR mounts. At time of writing, Primary Arms has QD models listing at $69.99, non-QD at $59.99 on sale.

My personal mount is an ADM Recon, but they're a bit spendy for you by the sounds of things. The PEPR would give most of the functionality and ruggedness at half the price...

I'm a fan of the DNZ Freedom Reaper line, I have three on ARs, and three on on other rifles.

The 30mm version has three lugs.

Optic by Vortex, mount by DNZ, balding fat guy by my parents. And yes, that's a 9mm in my ear. Left the muffs back at the house, and I'm lazy.

it starts as a solid block, and the first CNC machining pass makes what becomes the ring centers... the rings cannot be misaligned. It also eliminates any possibility of the rings loosening from recoil. It’s hard anodized, requires no lapping, has hex-head screws, and best of all – made in the USA, in North Carolina, if that kind of thing matters to you.

I already have a Burris PEPR, but because of it's build, I can imagine I could cut half the weight off [maybe more] with something like the Aero.

Pepr is huge. I have the midway at stoner mount. It's nice. I'm about 90-95% sure its made by warne. But if I had a little more dough, I'd get the aero precision mount. It's nice. And feels like about half the weight of the midway mount.

I suppose the top hinge points on the Aero will hold up........since it would be silly to design it that way if it fails eventually.

So far, I think I like the Aero the best.
