sO I've gotten my Sig issues fixed and I'm looking to add another mag or two. I have 4 of the old style 7-rd mags. What would you recommend now? Not sure if this matters, but my Sig is scoremarked KF. I'd prefer at least an 8 rd and hopefully a 9-10 rd flush fitting option that feeds well.

Thanks

There is no flush fitting magazine for the P220 except the 7-round models. The 8-round model fits almost flush but the floorplate sticks down a little bit.

The only magazines worth considering for a Sig are either the factory Sig magazines or else Mec-Gar magazines, they make the magazines for Sig.

There are Pro-Mag ten-round mags. Take it from me. Avoid Pro-Mag.

I used to own Pro-Mag mags for my Sig. Never again, not ever. You may save a little money but it is NOT worth the frustration. The 10-rd extended magazines also affect the balance of the pistol in a way I do not like. The .45 is a heavy round and having three more of them hanging off the butt makes the pistol butt-heavy to me, plus they suck for CCW because they stick out so far.

If you need more capacity, carry more magazines and learn to reload quickly.

I personally prefer the 7-round magazines for my P220- they balance well, they conceal well, and I managed to get a bunch of 'em for good prices.

"flush fitting" and a capacity larger than 7 round really don't work in a Sig 220

they did offer a different follower for the 7rd mags which increased the capacity to 8rds, but they are not a reliable as the current 8rd mags which have the extended base pad...made by Mec-gar.

Sig offers an extended 10rd mag, but as already stated, it does shift the balance a bit.

the other commonly used mags for the 220 are the 8rd mags from Act-mag....they're manufactured by former Mec-gar employees (sometimes branded as Novak). i have about 25 of them, but i come from the school that when single stack .45 ACP mags start misfeeding, throw them away and grab a new one. being as i got them for <$20/each, i just bought a bunch.

i have about 6 factory 8rd mags and really don't see much difference between them.

i have some 8rd and 10rd ProMags...i rescued them during a class...that i use for failure drills, because they hardly ever feed 2 rounds in a roll.

i also have 5 factory 7rd mags (dovetail, not zipperback) that came with my older 220 that i use for training as they will bring out flaws in my practice...due to their finish and lenght

+1 on the 8 round ACT/Novak mags. I have four of them and they are flawless. They are the ONLY aftermarket mags other than Mecgar that I would stake my life on!

I bought a ProMag once for my P220. I ended up hammering it flat. That was a fun way to waste $20.

The best route is to buy SIG factory magazines.

buy the Sig factory made ones...

Pro Mag sucks the big one !
avoid them like the plaege !
Midway U.S.A. sell the for around $40 i believe....
get the all stainless steel ones,it's worth it !
