Can't get "real" glock mags at walmart

That's incorrect. Every state that restricts magazine capacity makes no distinction between handgun magazines and long gun magazines.

Actually, THAT is incorrect. When I lived in California, albeit many moons ago, the only restriction on rifles was it could not be modified to accept magazines with more capacity than OEM mags. Handguns could not accept more than 15 rounds. IOW, Glock was alright with 15 round mags, an SHS modded to take AK mags wasn't, even if you put a 10 round mag in it.

Back home in Ohio, there are no restrictions more stringent than federal law. Well, except for that "31 rounds is a machine gun" that's going away this spring.

I lived in Virginia for a while, but I can't comment on the laws because I spent most of my time "living" there deployed. Never bought a gun there.

California law for at least the last decade has restricted magazine capacity to ten rounds, regardless of firearm type. There was a "repair kit" loop hole, but that was closed this year.

I just picked up a g26 and I really love the size and awesomeness of this gun. It came with two flush fitting 10 round mags and it's a gen3. My next purchase was to be a glock 17 mag for shooting at the range and when I went to add one to my cart at walmart.com the only option it would let me select was for a 10 rd mag. I'm i not aware of some law that was passed or something because I'm a little freaked out. Should I not be doing business with this online retailer?

I don't advocate dealing with businesses who support racists like Al Sharpton.

Two things. First, they did donate to his organization. Second, they place a motive on the second allegation, making it impossible to prove.

And a third thing, Snopes is iffy at best. I have personally seen at least two things happen that Snopes claims are false.

Of course, they sell Colt 6920s, and those certainly aren't legal in oppressive states.

You buy from whomever you prefer to buy from, of course. An advantage of dealing with outfits such as Midway USA is the online shopping features they offer (Notify Me (of product availability), a record of all your orders, their optional 'Round Up' option to automatically contribute to NRA (if you CHOOSE to), more detailed info regarding products and their 'application' (what they fit), and the list goes on. They ship faster than Jimmy Johns and you'll never order something that's not actually in stock. Can't recommend them highly enough.

There are many retailers online providing what I think is a far superior experience, and the firearms oriented retailers often have way better selection than the general department retailers. Glockmeister and others who focus on Glock most certainly have better selection, and you'll have a better idea of what you're actually going to get.

With semi autos, yes. Tube magazines are a separate rule. You can have over 10 rounds in a tube fed magazine.
Edit, meant to quote Ugaarguy.
