I'm considering a Ruger Mark III, and I will want a holster for it. I do mostly target shooting, but it will probably tag along when I am around the farm.

I've seen these two on Midway USA Fobus holster, and Tactical solutions holster. I would like something along these lines, I think.

Do you have any recommendations or personal favorites?

This is the holster I use for my MKII. I like it because it is soft yet durable. The strap is easy to unsnap and draw the gun quickly. The velcro ends on the straps can be adjusted on each side for whatever MK pistol you have. The black metal clip you see on the left side of the holster goes over your belt securely. I use it when I take the MKII to the range and get tired of laying the gun down while shooting other firearms. Nothing falls, gets scratched, or is played with by others when it is on my hip :) I bought it at a gunshow. I could see if the guy is there again next time if you like. I think it was 20-25 bucks.

I do kind of like those brown/leather holsters for it... First I was only interested in those plastic form fit ones, but maybe I'll reconsider...

I got the holster from Ruger today. UPS dropped it off about a 1/2 hour before i was leaving for the range. It was like a message:cool:. The gun fits in the holster like a glove already formed for the particular pistol which is great. Holster carried nicely with just a run of the mill 1" leather belt that I always wear. Leather is a bit stiff but a little glove conditioner will take care of that.

Nice holster for the $60 bucks I paid for it i wish it had a extra mag pocket. Overall I am happy with the purchase. The sight track prevents damage to the hi-viz front sight. Gun carries in a secure and comfortable manor. Good product.

Thanks for checking back in. Definitely some good info! Always great to hear those personal impressions (For $60 I hope it would be a good holster ;) )
