Umarex!! ++1,
Thought I would respond here. I have been wanting to purchase one of these for a while now. Like most of us working people on this site, money is never not tight. I have been saving for a while, and decided to purchase a "Waffen Werks" Bulgarian AK-74. Having spent that money, it kinda blew my purchase of a 1911 platform.
However, my brother has bought the Umarex (Made in Turkey) R-100. I have shot it many times. Flawless, G.I. mil-spec 1911. It will bite the webbing between your thumb and forefinger. Just like a true 1911, non-beavertail should.
Fit and finish is very good. Nothing fancy, nothing off standard. Hogue grips are very nice, and a nice extra on a $350.00 1911 pistol.
This pistol is on my wish list to buy, as I do not currently own a 1911 platform. I have always heard about the RIA superior customer service. I can not comment about the Umarex customer service. However, the "Turks" are making some really, really, fine handguns of late, and I would like to own one of these.
