Overall best AR's, LMT, Colt, Noveske. For accuracy, maybe a heavy barreled DPMS or RRA, though my standard m4 profile LMT is capable of under an inch at 100 yards with good ammo.

Yes looking for accuracy more than a carbine. Don't mind around 9 pounds. Sorry never heard of LMT or Noveske, but that is why I am here...to learn.
LMT's longest bbl. option is 18". If I was looking for something longer in a true production gun I'd go with Sabre based on the build quality of their rifles that I've handled compared to others.

Please don't look at the graph Hunter0924 posted and claim "Colt" to be the "winner" because it has more check marks than the other makers. The same graph has been posted many times on this and other forums.

A graph like this is meant to compare one to another, but it does not proclaim one as the "winner."

For example:

My LMT has shielded handguards. Double shielded handguards aren't exactly significant when you consider the cost of stock AR-15 handguards (without the picatinny rails) is around $25.

An "H" buffer, or heavy buffer, can be purchased if it's desired and I have no desire to add one to my LMT. For carbine length gas systems, a heavy buffer is designed to retard the carrier and slow down the cycling of the rifle. Like double shielded handguards, it costs around $25.

LMT does not parkerize under the front sight base (FSB). Is this a problem?

4150 barrel steel, magnetic particle inspected bolt, shot peened bolt, M4 feed ramps, properly staked gas key, and "F" marked front sight base (so you can use iron sights on a flat top railed receiver) are more significant features.

Whether being milspec or not means "better" is up to you. Who's to say a Rock River without 4150 barrel steel, MPI bolt, shot peened bolt, or M4 feed ramps won't last just as long as an LMT or a Colt?
