I have shot about 400 rounds of WWB 115 HP, WWB 115 FMJ, Federal HS, and Corbon +P 115 JHP in my KT P-11 without any problems so far. I have read elsewhere that WWB does not feed well in the P-11, but it has worked in mine. The Corbon seems a little hot for this gun, but feeds fine. The little gun is going to get some carry time soon and I need to choose a good carry round for it. Can someone with KT experience tell me what the best defense round for the P-11 is?

i really like the 147gr. hydrashoks in mine. accurate and great expansion in water bag tests shooting through a piece of jacket material. the only drawback is this a real mule kicking load in such a light gun.

i don't know what the "best" load for it is, but i load mine with 115gr Gold Dots. they feed and function perfect and give good accuracy (as much as can be expected from a short little gun) and are plenty controlable. whatever you pick, run some through the gun to make sure it works 100% before you rely on it for defense.

I don't want to get into the 147 vs lighter weight debate but as mentioned, go with the lighter weights as the short barrel robs velocity to begin with and a lighter bullet so handicapped is more likely to expand. I'd stay away from plus P too in a 14oz 9x19 autoloaded. Fed 115gr classic jhp would be a front runner for me if carrying this gun.

My P11 works fine with WWB and everything I've thrown at it with the exception of Federal EFMJ.

For a carry load I use doubletap's (www.doubletapammo.com) 124 gr. +P Gold Dots. It's the hottest 9mm ammo you'll find. I have a Wolff 18lb recoil spring in mine too, which may help some.

Sometimes I'm tempted to go back down to my previous Golden Saber load. The reduced follow-up time might be worth the loss in energy, I guess that's for you to decide.

The Kel Tec can handle +P. I shoot it sparingly, but carry it. The Cor-Bon load is awesome, near 1200fps out of my P11. That's snubby .357 territory. You can shoot hotter handloads. I've got one load that pushes over 1200 fps and puts up 400 ft lbs. It's a +P+ level load. I've fired a couple of mags out of it just to test it, uses the Winchester 115 grain JHP bullet, same bullet I use in my IDPA loads and it's flawless feeding. I'll carry one of the two, either my handload or the Cor-Bon and practice with CHEAP Win USA from Walmart. I've never had the gun bobble on any of these loads. I've had the gun quite a while and shot it a lot. It's my favorite carry piece, decent accuracy and perfect reliability. I'd prefer a longer sight radius, but that's the price you pay for concealability I reckon. And, the thing is very light and comfortable on the hip, even will fit in a coat pocket.
