no- what im saying is its not going to be super accurate at long range due to no buttstock and short barrel (im building one right now off of a romy G kit)......

out of all the AK's i have messed with, a hammer and punch did the job. either its welded, someone needs to open a can of man, or you dont have a big enough hammer :D

PB blaster IMO smokes most penatrating oils on the market, or go mix up some acetone and ATF- its the best BY FAR when it comes to getting things loose. maybe a little dash of the torch may get it loose as well.

Yes, bumped from the dead, but stinger 327 were you ever able to get the windage adjusted?

I'm having the same issue with my Draco.
Not yet I bought some other new toys and and ended up plalying with those. But I am going to have to get AK sights adjusted. It has been awhile so I'm going to have to re-read sight instructions on this because it seems the instructions on the AK are backwards compared to normal sight in procedures. Adjust the sights in the direction of where the bullet impacts?

PB blaster did the trick, halogrinder.

I originally broke a no-name brand AK sight tool while using a crescent wrench for leverage. I also applied the hammer and pin to it to no avail.

So yesterday I got my new Tapco sight tool, purchased some PB Blaster at Napa Auto Parts, didn't bother with a generic, and saturated the front post, leaving it for several hours. That sh*t seems toxic as hell, but you could see it working. After a few hours I took a zippo and heated the area for a few minutes, which probably did nothing, applied the Tapco sight tool, turned it as much as possible, then applied the crescent wrench for more leverage, and it finally popped. Initially, I thought I broke the Tapco tool, a second one to the grave, but it was the windage that finally budged.

Now back to the range for some final dialing.

Cheers.

I believe you on breaking the sight tool as mine was very tight.

im a BMW mechanic, and have been for 10 years - i use what works- i aint got time to screw around with what doesnt :D

as far as undoing crap that doesnt wanna, the stuff that works the best in my opinion from worst to best, in this order :

nothing
WD40
wurth sabesto
marvel mystery oil
brake fluid
liquid wrench
PB blaster
kroil (too expensive!)
ATF mixed 50:50 with acetone in a squirt bottle (will evaporate!)
torch (i hate using it- last resort)
God removes it for you

It's obvious the weakest point gave. The Tapco tool doesn't have a weak point like this one, it's just a solid piece. Most new AKs shouldn't have this type of issue though.
