With the panic buying taking place, make sure you take precautions in guns and ammo internet sales. And most especially from private sellers. Much better to hold off than taking your chances.

I've used the internet frequently and recently and never had a problem. Holding off may be a very poor idea depending on how high you expect prices to go.

There are lots of scammers out there and they will be jumping into the gun business. They set up sites to collect money for the kids killed in the CT school massacre so they will certainly try to scam people wanting to buy a gun. Just use the mainline dealers that have been around for a while and make sure you use a credit card if possible. The credit card makes it easier to get your money back if you are not happy with the transaction.

Oh I feel sure that there will be scammers or dishonest sellers coming out of the woodwork. I would simply buy from reputable dealers or not at all.

Scammers may not be the issue.

I am among many who placed an order for an item (magfa915, mags for the PPQ) that was in stock, only to have the site refresh, and find that I narrowly missed the window. I'm looking at a couple of months before I get my mags.
