HI
I am looking for the next step in progressive/automatic reloading to the Dillon 1050.

I have a side business that has grown from a couple hundred rounds a month to close to 10K worth for several clients. 99% .223 55 grain culling loads.

I have tried a net search but cannot seem to find anything. I get links to all the major reloading makers, Dillon , hornady, rcbs etc I get links to autostapling machines and auto binders etc etc the list goes on. but nothing for auto cartridge reloaders. I did find a link for a european machine for about $450k that would load a years supply in a couple of hours. i emailled them- no response.

I work 60 hours a week at my real job and have been making do with a 550 to load my orders on.
The main problem is the time spent de-priming/priming cases and the effort required. - I'm starting to get RSI.:uhoh:

What i'm looking for is a brass conditioning machine. empty( but cleaned) fired brass goes in one end and re-sized and primed brass comes out the other end , AT the push of a button.

I can then run it through the dillon with really no effort. If it was possible I would modify the dillon to charge powder in the priming station thus allowing me to put an electric light reader in the powder station to check that the case was charged and then somehow fabricate a bullet feeder/loader in the normal station and connect some kind of electric motor and bell crank to the operating handle.

options. ideas, search terms that might work??

thanks

Look at the Camdex Case Processor.
http://www.camdexloader.com/index.htm

It does everything you list except repriming, but delivers sized and decapped cases at 3750 an hour.
Not cheap, US$10,450 in the 17th edition Handloader's Digest 1997.

Also in that H.D. but 7 years old and not now on the www or in computer Yellow Pages phone directory. Worth a call or fax attempt?

Ogre, I realize you're looking for brass processing, but how about check out the Ammo Load. I have seen it run at the Shot show a few times and it is really slick. Here's a link to one that was for sale, and it also has the link to Ammo Load there too.

The Ammo Load website is down, but they were still operating as of Feb of this year.

My former employer had a Camdex that they loaded .38 Specials on. I got to see it in action, and it was awesome. Also, check the reloading classifieds in Shotgun News. Every once in a while you see the big loading machines for sale.

Just my .02,

I saw an automated machine, I beilieve it was an AmmoLoad, run at a *real* reloader's house. That thing was amazing and would pump out 4000 rounds an hour according to the loader withouit pushing hard at all. The biggest problem, according to him, was keeping it supplied. Apparently they run about $16k, not bad if you do it for a living.

Get ahold of Weshoot2. He reloads ammo for a living. Bet he'll know.

Precision Cartridge is not too far from my house. They've got maybe 6 fully automated machines that run all the time. Might try to get ahold of them. If you need help, let me know. I'll be over there later this week.

I know, but I don't remember

The guy who makes Bell Brass also does an ammo-making thingie; maybe a search for him-n-his?............

All very automated; I go slower.

Wow you guys are gr8.

Thanks for the leads. Will follow them up.

Do you know of any auction housesor repo clearance places that deal with reloading gear and such???

thanks again
