BFR Revolver Holster Help

Hello all,

I am looking for a holster for a 10 inch barreled .500 S&W BFR revolver. Preferably in black leather. I cannot seem to locate one that isn't made for 7.5 length that just has a hole at the bottom to let the extra length of the barrel through. I would love if I could buy one that is specifically made for the BFR in the stated 10 inch length. Does anyone here know of/own such a holster? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would measure the barrel length before ordering. At one time Magnum Research measured their barrels from the front of the frame not actual barrel length. My older 7.5” gun actually measures 8 1/8 or 8 1/4

I acquired a 7.5" .500 BFR several years back and there were not a lot of options. I ended up making one myself as I was gifted a complete leather smith setup. I did purchase a cowboy leather sewing machine. So, I made a western holster that you can wear on a belt or the western gun belt. The ones I found were 140 bucks and I had the tools to make one for no cost. Unless you have a local leather smith the 10" holster is a unicorn.

They still measure them that way like you said the frame + the barrel will be about 10".

I just finished a modern one for my .500 BFR which sits high on the side compared t the western rigs which hang low. I made the snap from a real buffalo nickel and did a dual die on the leather. It will fit up to a 3" belt. The sewing machine is lever hand operated, which will sew up to 2" thick. I refurbished a horse bridal for a guy no one around Southern MD does the work. I am not in business as it is a hobby and generally make gifts for birthdays and holidays for family.

Nice work dobedo! For short barrels, hi rise styles work for me but for longer barrels I like a long drop.
