Fixing to start a build on a 6.5 grendel ar 15, and wondering if I should go with a black hole weaponry 20 inch heavy barrel or 22 inch doublestar bull barrel. Any suggestions and reasons why you feel one is better than the other would be greatly appreciated. Will be used for deer hunting, possibly elk and hog hunting and some target shooting out to about 400 yards

I just recently made the same decision and I got the Blackhole. My reasons were varied and complex, but hinged upon one extremely important factor:

Who had it in stock when I had the money. ;)

Does Doublestar make a Grendel Barrel? I couldn't find one listed online. In my research for a Grendel Barrel I found the 22inch Satern barrel from Brownells. It comes with a bolt and seemed to have good reviews.

"A BHW barrel is a much higher quality barrel than a Double Star."

Did you read that on the interwebs?

There are three-gun champions who would disagree...as opposed to your singular experience or regurgitation of others' experiences.

What's your real-world experience with both companies' barrels?

I have three Black Hole barrels. I am pleased with the barrels and BHW's technical assistance. Delivery when I bought my barrels was not the swiftest but was as promised.

I do not have experience with Doublestar barrels.

My 6.5 Grendel barrel is from a different manufacturer than either BHW or Doublestar.

I've used plenty of both company's barrels. In my opinion the BHW barrels are better.
