I have an 870 express magnum, factory 7rd, 18"barrel with a bead sight. Being a HD only shotty, I've considered the AO big dot tritium glue-on bead. Does anyone own/ed or shot a setup like this and how did you like it?

Please no ghost ring or rifle sight suggestions, don't want 'em not interested.

Thanks,
Phil

I have the pistol Big Dot and it's fast, accurate and good on moving targets. The night sight part works well.

There's a set of Big Dot Express sights on my wife's 20" 870. It _is_ a big dot, no doubt about it. But she likes it a lot and her eyes are bad, worse even than mine.

It is highly visible in all light and very fast close in. I think you'd like it, but if you can find one mounted on a gun already it would be good to handle it to make sure it suits you.

I thank you all for your replies and info. This sight sounds ideal for my uses. I'd like to try one out first but chances are slim. It might be a couple of weeks 'till I can get it on, but I'll report back.

I intend to use some industrial 2-part epoxy, making sure to get all the air bubbles out of the connection. Is there mission specific adhesive for this?

Thanks again.

I havent seen one of these in person yet, but have heard good things about it. Its my understanding, that if the big dot tritium bead is knocked off, your original bead should still remain underneath. That way your not really any worse off than when you started.
