Hey everyone, I will admit to being overweight and carrying a firearm also.:neener:
I'm about 225 lbs and 5'8'' and have the whole love handle thing going on. The gun I just purchased was a Gen 3 Glock 23 (.40 cal) and I am looking for an OWB holster that is below 70$ to carry it concealed. I would love some sort of active retention but the holster should be made of leather as I find that much more comfortable on the skin.

I am also looking for a magazine/light holder such as this: http://sideguardholsters.com/holsters/MagLight.htm That could be cheaper?

The holster that I am looking into purchasing is also made by the same company:

The reason this holster attracts me is because the trigger area of the holster is right on the belt line indicating that this would carry the gun lower and not bump into that "love handle" to keep from pushing it out and making me print.

Anyways, What holsters have you big(er) guys used to comfortably carry these g(b)locks around?

Check out a Bianchi Carrylok, man. That's all I use for OWB, can usually be scored for $50 on ebay, and super comfortable, doesn't bite my love handles either.

That's a pretty good looking holster! I haven't heard of that brand before, but I admittedly haven't spent a lot of time looking for holsters, the next firearm related item I am looking at is a CCW permit when the budget allows (If only my W2 form would come already).

Good Luck finding a holster that works for you!

I've lost a lot of my handles the last few years but I did have a substantial pair once, ever give a thought to a shoulder holster? I've never had a Glock but I did carry a full size 1911 in one, a DeSantis I believe, don't remember the specific model. Any way, I found it very comfortable, but they're not for everone's lifestyle/mode of dress.
