Well I was not aware of that!! Thanks for educating me.

Yes sir.

I had really hoped I explained it well; I have never been confident putting my thoughts into words; I know what I want to say but I just don't know how to say it so, many times I just don't say anything at all

I don't reload yet, so my 9mm and 45acp Ruger Blackhawk convertibles have been very useful when ammo is scarce.

In the past couple of years I've always been able to get 9mm, and 45acp was one of the first ones to appear on local shelves after 9mm and 22lr.

Revolver ammo is still rare to see around here, but I've been able to shoot my Blackhawks regardless. :)

That is one sweeeeeet Vaquero, DR.....Rod (Always wanted one with a S&W rear sight, & custom front....and while we're at it, I'd like the same treatment on a Browning Hi Power...)

May I ask what the sight work cost you? I have a Birdshead Vaquero in .44 Mag I'd love to do that too. I've been trying to trade for a SBH but haven't had the luck.

I had the chambers reamed from .40 S&W to 10mm, had it bead-blasted from bright to satin stainless, and had the sights added. Total cost including shipping both ways was almost $400. The revolver was initially a blemished commemorative for the 150th anniversary of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department...the bead blasting was to remove the blemished markings. The original revolver, since it was a blemished version, was $250.

What do you not like about the Bisley .41 Magnum? I had an opportunity to buy a near identical gun and a year later I’m kicking myself for not.

It was not put together well. The cylinder rattled on the base pin, and I even went so far as to buy an oversized Belt Mountain base pin... and the cylinder was loose on that! The trigger was terrible, and although I didn't slug the bore, it either had mismatched cylinder throats (likely) and/or a torque bulge in the barrel. It was a hot mess. And, understand, I WANTED to like this pistol... it had been on my Unobtanium list for years. I may try to find another... but it's not likely.

Charlie, that is too bad. I have that same model that I bought new and I absolutely love mine. It is a deer slaying machine. I recently put a red dot on it so that I could see better while aiming, but it is way more accurate than I am. I have some real flame throwing loads using 210 gr. XTP's but generally cast my own and shoot them at a more moderate velocity.

It is... it was a wonderful pistol, it just was not the sum of it's parts. Sadly, I had a .44SPC flattop I liked as well... but had an insane torque bulge in the barrel that seriously affected accuracy. I had the cylinder reamed on that one, which helped, but I wasn't ready to do the merry-go-round with returning it to Ruger to 'fix' the barrel. That was a handy little pistol...

I bought my Ruger Single Six convertible in 1972, my Ruger Blackhawk .357 in 1976 and my Super Blackhawk in 1981. I still have all 3 and love shooting them. The Single Six was shot so much it became out of time. I Called Ruger customer service, they took it back and retimed it, NO CHARGE. Great handguns!!!

Ahhh yes, the RBH in 45 Colt is a must have. Mine has had some work done by an unknown 'smith.

Not my first Ruger Revolver but my first Blackhawk. 4-3/4” Flat top .45 Cal Convertible.

I also have a twin to your blackhawk. I think that they were Lipsey's special orders and are nearly perfect.

I have had the acp cylinder throated to .452 so my cast reloads would fit.

Also added a red insert to the front sight, a do it yourself project, and a Brownells white outline rear sight blade, less than 10$ for the rear as I recall,

It's pretty close to perfect for me.
