Does anybody know of bigger wood grips for the ROA? The stock ones are much too small for my hands. I know there's some Pachmayr grips that are bigger than stock, but I'd really like to keep the classic look of wood.

How much different from the Ruger Blackhawk grip frame is it? I used to have a Super Blackhawk with Herret's stocks on it and really liked them.

I had the same problem, solved with the grips pictured, they are Taylor, but other companies made similiar grips for the Ruger, they are interchangeable from my Single six and my ROA. I put the Ruger emblems on from my old stock grips.

I forgot to mention that I got those grips on Ebay, one of the few gun related things that thye still sell. Mine are J Scott, but Hogue and Hunter also make an extended style for the Blackhawk, just make sure it's not the Super Blackhawk model, as said above they won't fit.

I had to have custom grips made for it because I had Clements put a Ron Power Colt SS Gripframe on it....So of course you need custom grips. Clements recommended Paul Persinger. The price was under $200/W shipping. I warned Mr. Persinger that I had very large hands, I can still palm a basketball.

He asked me a few questions and he made some suggestions. I had to send him my ROA because of the uniqueness but a week or two later, I got it back and I couldn't be happier.

But this is a unique situation and may not be what you're after.

I've got a set of the Hogue rubber grips, but liked the wood better and I didn't feel confortable trying to put the birds on the rubber grip.
