Anyone ever attend these shows ,$8 a Ticket whats the Verdict?

I think you might be thinking of Bill Goodman.

I go to the shows occasionally, and I have bought a few firearms there over the years. I usually go to the Sharonville location, so I don't know what the Dayton show is like. My problem is always the lines. Recently people have started lining up several hours before the doors open and the ticket buying process is very slow.

The Bill Goodman show in Dayton is generally quite a bit bigger than the one in Sharonville. It's like all gunshows---great if you find someone who has something you want, not so great if you don't.

The show is your average gunshow. There are always a few ammo retailers who pay retail from AIM Surplus up the road and add 15% to the price. There are one or two reputable knife dealers, several reputable gun dealers, some chi com junk tables, a guy who makes decent kydex holsters while you wait, an old timer sharpening kinves for a few bucks, the Glock armorer is always there, and always busy.

There is minimal standing room for private FTF sales, and the show runners hassle guys trying to make deals outside the few sq ft. allotted for those transactions.

Goodman shows are well attended. The Dayton show is or used to be scheduled monthly. I have hit the Dayton OH show in the past and have gone to the Nashville TN show a couple of times. Have not attended recently.

I generally look at the promoter and the number of tables. A good promoter host a good show with plenty of guns and ammunition and things that are gun. A 300 table show for example with 200 tables of beef jerky and flea market items is a suck show. Even a small show can be a great show as long as the ficus is on guns and not junk.

Many years ago we would work a show at an armory in Westerville, OH. promoted by Bill Goodman and for a small show it was really great. So it all comes down to the promoter and what they bring in for sellers.

I have been to both Dayton and Sharonville shows...

Dayton is perhaps 2x the vendors/tables to Sharonville..

Last Sharonville show was pretty sparse less the fake Aimpoints and cheap lasers..

I did not buy anything but it was interesting..

Caution on selling/buying in the line, I think they prohibit that... FYI..

It is worth going to the Dayton one if you have never been...

I used to have a FFL and do Bill Goodman shows in Michigan back in the 80s. Those were always the biggest shows around. He ran afoul of some of his venues I think and bailed out of Michigan. Always wondered what happened to him. Interesting that he is still at it.

Gun shows kind of sagged when the internet came into being. Why pay parking and entry fees and high prices when you could order just about anything online? I haven't been to one in 15 years I would estimate. I guess the AWB and new generations of shooters have brought them back.

I've been to the Dayton show many times. I didn't go this weekend though. I've bought a full range of items there over the years. I've never been there when it wasn't elbow to elbow in all the aisles. He had the show at the Airport a few years back, and there was a lot of empty space there. I don't know if he is still going there anymore. It's a pretty good show, but I haven't been there since the latest craziness started.
