Bill O'Reilly and Chuck Shumer on Gun Control Tonight

Chucky is the Senator-in-charge of electing more Democrats for the Party. He probably needs to appear more moderate right now to keep the houses of congress and elect a Democrat president.

O'Reily is actually pretty good for a non-gun enthusiast. He seems to be learning more all the time. Last night, in the viewer mail segment, he told said that he didnt think the founders had legal alien/non citizens in mind when they adopted the bill of rights. then said, "I may be wrong..." He was wrong of course, early and recent supreme court decisions but a broad meaning on the term "the people" and it is clear that it includes resident aliens as well as citizens.

If you watch O'Rielly right after the VT shooting he kept saying better laws wouild have kept Cho from getting a GLOCK saying GLOCK with disdain in his voice. Also anytime this shooting and gun control come up on his show they show a clip from a gun dealer laying out AR-15s for a customer to look at. Anyone else read between the lines on this??

i'm too jaded to think that chuckie is coming around on the issue. you know, campaign from the center and then rule with an iron gun-grabbing fist from the left.

by the way, when the first round of AWB I was initially contemplated in Congress during the Klinton regime, I seem to recall chuckie at the range shooting an ugly black pistol. i think it was a semi intratec or an uzi or a mac, i can't remember.

what struck me about the photo, IIRC, was that he looked like he was trying to suppress a ****-eating grin while firing the gun. could it be ... that he was having FUN?

heaven forbid a person should have FUN while shooting paper targets with an EBP.

This person (and I use the term lightly) has been a strong supporter or the initiator of every gun control bill introduced since he was first elected to office. He has not changed at all. All that has changed is that he has recognised that by saying he "supports the 2nd Amendment" he gets those who don't know his history to listen to him. He, like many other DemoRATS have finally come to the realization that if they make their true fellings and intent public, a growing segment of the country won't listen to them any more.

Hillary has (in the past) been as radical left as it gets, but since there is a chance for a Presidential run for her, she has been working hard to come off as a moderate. Or just keeping her mouth shut (which is a full time job for any politician).

Shumer, Biden, and Metzenbaum were leaders in pushing gun control back in the 60s and 70s, and even though Metzenbaum has retired (and I think since died, or at least I hope so), he has a son in politics, and while I don't pesonally know anything about him, his family tree is enough for me. These are the old line east coast anti gunners (along with many others), and today are joined by the "new" generation of west coast antis, Feinstein, Pelosi, etc.

They are hardworking, dedicated, tireless individuals, who have, unfortunately, bought into the fantasy that we are better off with only the police and the military having guns, body and soul. Assuming you believe they have souls. They are the enemy of individual gun ownership, no matter what they say, their actions speak for them, and they scream contempt for the idea of anyone (but them and their hired servants) having access to firearms of any type. The nicest thing that can be said is that they are "elitist".

The talking heads talk and the masses soak it up and never question the validity of it .

Despite the fact that we live in the "Information age" most people are completely ignorant of what happens around them in their local neighborhood much less on the National level .
