Anyone have any experience with these for mounting a Harris bipod to a rail (or have any better suggestions)? Do you think quick detach is a good feature or more prone to loosening/breaking over time?:
OK, so now I'm between a QD mount and this (a pivoting QD): Do you think the pivoting feature would reduce accuracy in terms of not being able to hold it as still, or do you think it would be useful?
I like having both features, however I like being able to adjust the amount of tension of each feature as well. Pan I like for shooting movers or for shooting multiple targets. Tilt is nice because not everywhere I shoot has a level surface, and instead of adjusting the legs I just give it a little tilt. But like I said I like being able to put tension on the pan/tilt feature. Just enough to where it will stay where it is without holding it but will still move without having to go gorilla on it.
Out of curiosity, what bipod did you choose to go with? I think I saw a thread where you were trying to choose, but I don't remember which route you ended up going.
Thanks for the advice, everyone. I truly appreciate it. I ended up going with the Harris BRM-S bi-pod (6-9" notch legs, swivel). I'm gonna try out the non-rotating QD mount first since it's a heck of a lot cheaper and has good reviews. If I find I need the rotating adapter I may go that route in the future and will update the post as such.
sorry i couldn't be more helpful. i haven't tried either of the swivel options you posted. i've just used the larue. but the swivel thing is interesting. please report back here after you have a couple thousand rounds downrange through it and let us know what you think
