I'm having a bit of trouble getting my harris bipod securely mounted on my remington 7400, the Harris #3 adapter that i'm using is designed to be installed on a factory wood forearm just in front of the gas piston, I'm using an aftermarket synthetic stock and the front of the forearm is flat instead of having a cap and recessed cavity like the wood forearm. The head of the original forearm bolt is not wide enough to hold the adapter in place and the bolt that Harris supplied leaves about a 3/16" gap between the forearm and the adapter making the bipod loose and shaky. Is there any way I can get a more secure mounting
here are my questions:
1.Would a factory remington 7400 synthetic stock work better for this? has
anybody had experience with this?
2.Is there another bipod adapter that would work better? If I end up having
to improvise I'm thinking of something along the lines of a washer, but I
haven't found the right size yet.
here's a picture of the adapter http://www.wholesalehunter.com/product/harris/harrdes/harrpic/no3.jpg
what would you do?
