I recently aquired a Sauer 202 Varminter and I am interested in a bipod for the rail system it has built in. I'll be shooting targets either benchrest or prone but mostly shooting varmits. Any suggestions for a good qualty bipod is appreciated.

My understanding is that the patent has run out on the Harris bipod. You can now buy basically the same bipod from Outers for half the price. I would highly suggest the Outers for price and performance.

if what m16 says is true, then that is the route to go... i have no experience w/ the outers brand.

i do have much experience w/ the harris bipods, though, and harris is the way to go.

Just bought one of the Outers BiPods and it is EXACTLY like my Harris BiPod with the exception of having a slightly different screw mechanism to tighten things down.

Go with the Outers. I paid $37.00 + $5.95 shipping for mine. That is at least $20.00 cheaper than the comparable Harris from what I have found.

Looks lik Midway USA has the Outer's bipod under the name "Shooters Ridge" for about the same price at Eabco. Teh Eabco website says that adapters from Harris fits their models.

The Eabco part number is the same as the Midwat Shooter's Ridge manufacturer's part number.

went down to the shops and had a look... there are at least 2 companies right now that are making harris-style bipods. outers, and some other company... at any rate, i could not see any difference between these bipods and the harris' i already have. my next bipod will probably be an outers.
