Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've been active on the forums. Anyways, I'm saving up for a birthday/Christmas gift for myself of an Arsenal SLG21-94, and I have a few questions that I did not find answers to searching, and was wondering if you all could help clarify some things.

When it comes to magazines, I've read that Circle 10 and US Palm make the best. I was wondering if it's true, and also, I've seen the 75 round magazine for the AK-47 around the internet, and have only found Chinese made versions of it. I'm not one who care for Chinese products due to their consistent lack of quality. I don't know if that's true for their magazines, but I was wondering if Circle 10 of Bulgaria happens to produce these as well...and if they're possible to get in the US.

Also, since this rifle does have a bayonet lug, are there any sources for a real Russian made AK-103 bayonet? Granted, I don't have much use for it, but it'd just be something fun to have.

Then, I have a question about stocks. I was going through a Cabelas shooting catalog, and I noticed these beautiful AK stocks made by Timbersmith. On their website, they list that the stocks are made for Romanian AK's. First of all, if I were to pick up an extra wood stock for some nostalgia furniture, would it be possible to attach it to the mount of a folding one (as on the SLG21-94), and if the rifles themselves differ around the receivers for stocks, and the saigas since this is a converted saiga through arsenal inc.

Finally, due to import restrictions, and when the rifle is converted, there is not a pistol grip reinforcement plate on it. I was wondering if it is possible to buy these separately, and have one attached as long as 922 is being obeyed?

Thanks for the help!

Circle 10 mags are great, and can be found used for about $15.00 a piece. Aimsurplus has commie steel surplus mags for $12.00 a piece, which are also great. US Palm makes okay mags, but they're lower quality than the foreign ones and not significantly cheaper.

As far as I know there aren't any Bulgarian drum mags. I could be completely wrong on that though. That having been said, when it comes to AK stuff the Chinese make very good products.

RRC firearms has Bulgarian and Polish bayonets that should fit, I have no idea if there are Russian ones available. The Bulgarian will definitely fit on an SGL, I think the Polish does too.

Then, I have a question about stocks.

I shortened your comment here because I'm not a stock expert. In theory Romy furniture will fit on an Arsenal, although it may need a little fitting (sanding). I don't know how the folding stock affects things but I'm sure somebody wiser will be along shortly to answer that.

Yes you can. It's not a do it yourself job, unless you're a welder, but lots of guys do it.

Just as a random though, I've seen Arsenal SLR 107s available recently. You may want to think about one of those. They're just as nice (and arguably nicer) than the SGLs and they already have the PG reinforcement plate. The ones I've seen are right around 1K in price.

Circle 10 and most steel mags are great and indestructible.

Chinese drums are pretty much all there is, and those are also great and indestructible.

I don't know about bayonets, but you can find ordinary AKM bayonets cheap. I got a Romanian for $7.

Pretty sure folding stocks use a different rear trunion, but that could just be underfolders.

No clue about the reinforcement plate, but is it really necessary?

The SGL21-94 uses the side-folding mechanism that came into use with the AKS-74s. It uses a different rear block and the receiver is cut on an angle to line up with the folding hinge, as well as having the various holes punched in it for the release button and catch.

Basically, no, you can't put a standard fixed-stock AKM stock on it.

(Under-folders are a whole 'nother species, yet.)

The pistol-grip plate is not exactly necessary. It is easily possible to get one, and you can have a shop spot-weld it on for you, though you'll need to take care of getting it re-finished.
