I recently shared my excitement with my first single action revolver, a Super Blackhawk in .44 Rem. Mag. Being very pleased with the feel and accuracy of the SBH (not to mention that I get FAR more good natured conversation at the range with it) I went on a gunstore trade-in search for other Ruger SA's.

I've closely followed the .44 Mag. vs. .45 Colt threads on TFL and THR for quite some time, when I got interested in handgun hunting a few years ago. I learned from these threads that .45 Colt can be loaded to some pretty impressive loads . . . but it is only recommended for Ruger BH/SBH and Redhawks. So I started looking for a .45 Colt Ruger SA. I stumbled across what I consider the best "bang for the buck" Ruger SA, .45 Colt / .45 ACP Blackhawk.

Anyway, long story short (too late), I got my second big bore single action revolver! And my wife thinks "cowboy guns" are pretty interesting, whereas she hates my "black and ugly" semi-autos . . . good deal, huh?

Way to go on the great find!! Ruger's are super strong, and will take the full house loads.;)

I also have been smitten with the RBH. Love it!:D
A joy to shoot short or long /rain or sun

Make room for more. And if you get the chance shoot some animal ammo out of a 7.5 RBH 45......Hoot Hoot!:what:

The only problem is you have to stop to work and sleep:banghead:

Saxon is right. Eventually, you'll just have to have a Colt. Here's a pic I took of one of my favorite 2nd Gen. Colts this weekend.

A true pleasure to hold and shoot.

Yes, the grips are 3rd Gen. grips. I have the originals stowed away, as I prefer the hand-filling qualities of 3rd Gen grips.

Nice guns. For those of you with the Ruger's, what do you think of the Bridshead grips? I know they have been around forever on many different guns but seem to have gained in popularity in the last couple of years.

Thanks,

Russ
