I've seen the area in Infrared, and damned if it don't look like the biggest ticking timebomb I've ever seen...

10-15,000psi superheated liquified Hydrogen Suifide and molten rock is not something I want any part of.

I'll be in the cockpit of a plane or boat most likely.

TX + more guns

I don't know if I would live, being here in TX but what the he** It give me a reason to go to the gun show today and get more guns, ammo, and knives. I don't know how much it would mess up in the world and I don't want to find out.

Geologist buddy of mine said last time Yellowstone blew New Mexico was covered in ash. Then he said there is no reason to worry about things beyond anyone's control. If it happens, it happens, and you deal with it to the best of your abilities. (Suprised this thread is as large as it is.)

I honestly believe that the worst that will happen is that tourism for the region will drop drastically. :D

On a serious note, what can one do? Buy a N/B/C mask? Whole lotta good that'll be when/if the famine really starts to hit our level in the food chain.

When Mount St. Helens blew they had plenty of warning, but one guy had a cabin on a slope nearby and refused to leave. They told him the risks, but he refused to leave (ooook then, have fun buddy). IIRC the blast wasn't the killer, what flattened all the trees was the gas flowing down the mountain. Hot gas, all of it very poisonous, streaming out and down like a big yellow/brown wave.
