Anyone know where one can get a good black jumpsuit? Or is a set of black BDU's just as good? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

FYI, if your application for these suits involves any sig risk of fire, you should go two piece. DEA and other agencies with whom I work used to use one piece nomex suits when dimantling meth labs until they figured out how hard it was to get out of it in case of fire. While getting out of a two piece set would not be easy under any circumstance, it is quicker than if your stuck in a jumpsuit.

Store or website?

COHIBA,
I'm also in SC. Noticed that you have mentioned uniforms and shooting accesories being "instock' a couple of times......do you have a store here in the state. If so, I'll be sure to visit sometime....

If you don't mind me asking... Why a black jumpsuit? For what purpose?

If it's for a uniform, then I have no input.

But if this is for an extended "SHTF, quick-to-don, they-can't-see-me buggin-out" getup, then black is possibly not your color. I know it looks cool. SWAT wears it. Charlie, Michael, Bill and Dennis wore it in "Navy SEALs". But black is just SOO darn black that it's visible at night because it's blacker than the black shadow you're hiding in.

If I'm close on my guess, then I would suggest that you at least take a look at OD, Navy, or Slate Grey as your "alternative tactical" color.

;)

Hmmmm. I live in an environment with lots of green in it. I guess that would be better than solid black. Anyone know of any good green jumpsuits? Or are fatigues a whole lot better? I don't need it for a uniform. I just thought it would be neat to have. Any suggestions? Thanks for all the information so far.

Jumpsuits PRO and CON:

PRO: If you envision a situation where you'd need to QUICKLY(i.e. under 3 minutes) don something "tactical" over civvies/mufti, jumpsuits work fine. John Plaster recommends them in his "Ultimate Sniper" book/video for that role. If Nomex's fire-resistant qualities are not an absolute necessity, surplus Army OD green mechanic's coveralls would be pretty serviceable, or even brown/khaki Carhart's/Dickies coveralls should suffice.

CON: In a warm-weather situation, coveralls get HOT, and you can't take off the top as you would with BDU's. Yeah, you could shrug out of the top portion and tie the sleeves off around your waist, but that's clumsy and looks like crap.

CON: When it comes time to do what bears do in the woods, jumpsuits are REALLY clumsy and slow. With BDU's, you simply drop trou and do your business - with coveralls, you've gotta take your pack, LBE, vest, etc. off, strip down, and then put everything back on again. I do know, however, that US Army Nomex Combat Vehicle Crewman's coveralls have a "Doctor Denton" flap for that purpose - I don't think that Army mechanic's coveralls or Nomex aviator's jumpsuits do, but I could be wrong.
