From the Wild West Show at End of Trail:

While I'm not much of a rider, I've seen a LOT of horses I would not want to try this with.

Animal Abuse, plain and simple -- did the horse have hearing protection? If not, then the guy shouldn't have done this as horses have to hear, too - you know!

I'm no expert on Mounted Cowboy Action Shooting, but I have read where the competitors have ear plugs made specially for their horses.

Looks like his Bullet Mold and Powder Flask are also flying through the Air, up and to the right there...

How does one combine Acetylene with Black Powder for Revolver use?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh...in-the-Balloon...

If the Horse broke wind, that might work also...if he timed it right...

Just feed a lot of Brussel Sprouts the day before...

I think that what you think is a bullet mold and powder flask is actually pieces of the balloon!

Just about every rider/owner in these games use ear plugs for their mounts from what I have seen over the years.

Now you done it! That'l wind up as a poster for the Brady bunch! Kiss that 1860 explosive projectin' device goodbye while you prepare to be picketed by PETA.

The Acetylene filled 'Baloon' would not make an Ear bothering 'Boom', even if the Revolver does...

Acteylene or hydrogen filled balloons just go pop a wee bit louder than a regular balloon..indoors they're loud, but so are regular balloons..
That horse has to be trained for it, though, just like cavalry horses and warhorses back in the day..

Anyone tried the exploding targets? They're plastic jars of what looks like plastic pellets and a bag of silver powder that mix and shake for 45 seconds, then shoot from 50 or 100yds depending on the size. I brought one to the range awhile back and taped a clay to the top of the jar and placed it in the center of my cardboard target, at 50 yds the target pieces were raining down all the way to the shooting stand, WOW, if they weren't so expensive, I'd have a dozen. I told the other shooters there that I was testing special ammo for the CIA. Now when I go to the range everybody stops shooting when I set a target and seem disappointed when it doesn't go boom.

The binary exploding targets are safe (relatively) just hydrogen or just acetylene is going in the wrong direction. Combining oxygen and acetylene in any container is stupid. All it takes is a little static and the best you can hope for is a permanent 3kHz 30dB ringing in your ears.

when i was in high school for welding we did a lot of dumb things with actealine and oxygen filling a ballon with acetyline just makes a big black cloud and a barely any noise.

filling one with acetaline and adding a hint of oxygen makes one hell of a giagantic boom had someone throw one inbetween a peice i was grinding and the wall in the sparks as a prank.

they were lucky i was wearing plugs and a face sheild it was incredibly loud and the fireball was kinda scary i felt a nice little punch from it too.

all the bininary targets are pretty much is aluminum powder and ammonium nitrate with something else to make them a bit more sensitive added

I COULD NOT AGREE MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS ALL FUN & GAMES TILL YOU BLOW YOUR FACE OFF & ARE BURNED TO DEATH.
& it will be some dumb kid that doesn't know the first thing about MIG, TIG WIRE FEED or STICK Let alone the dangers that come from Oxygen & Acetylene

Looks really fun i bet my mare would start bucking like a rodeo bronco if i did that, but my 8 year mustang gelding would love it.

The early days of 'on demand' Calcium Carbide Crystal and Water immersion Acetylene Generators for Oxy-Acetylene Welding had the occasional misadventure too.

I always loved the smell of Acetylene...

But yup...allow a roughly right Air or Oxygen mixture to occur, and combustion effects are greatly enhanced.

I think there were some early experimental internal Combustion Engines which ran on Acetylene-Air mixtures...though I have to wonder if this was sort of hard on the Pistons?

Watch that Spark Advance/Retard setting I s'pose..!
