Anyone know much about BROs 10/22 clone?

Is there any reason to pick one up over a comparably priced Ruger 10/22? Billet CNC receiver and trigger housing. 4150V Chromoly barrel.

I’m not a 10/22 fanatic but I’d like to be, and subsequently get a nice one to do a certain task.

My local Scheels has a BRO on sale that is equipped kinda like what I want.

Thanks.

I got a black rain ordnance bro 22 in early 2024. I have only shot around 400 rounds thru it, however with Winchester 36 gr bullets traveling 1280 fps; I can get shots in a 1/4” group at 100y and still be able to shot at 300y accurate. But my gun jams up ever 15-30 shots with that ammo, where as cci 40 gr bullet and federal automatch cycles much better with out jams, but is a good deal less accurate. I have not tested to see if it’s because of the grain difference or what. To finish I do think it’s a good buy. My gun was $100 more then a base ruger 10/22 but the fully adjustable stock and threaded barrel is a nice touch on the bro 22.

Welcome to THR.

That's awesome group but many of THR peanut gallery would challenge "Picture of target or it didn't happen". ;) And preferably multiple repeated 3/5/10 shot groups on the same target for "believe-ability" factor instead of "once in a blue moon" 3 shot 1/4" group.

After capturing over 10,000 round 22LR groups at 50/100 yards and fully documented on THR threads, I found 3/5 shot groups are simply subset of 10 shot groups and 10 shot groups are simply subset of 50 shot groups, and so on; until all the "extreme spread" range of barrel/muzzle harmonics and ammunition velocities variations/bullet drops along with shooter input are captured - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...cheap-bulk-22lr-ammunition-comparison.908102/

Since this is your first post on THR, we anticipate "measurable and repeatable" presentation of 1/4" group targets at 100 yards as many of us have gotten "can get" 1/4" groups at 100 yards that simply grew larger as more subsequent rounds were shot.

Many of my 5/10 shot groups at 50 yards started out with 1/4"-3/8" 3 shot groups but subsequent rounds increased the group size to 1/2"-3/4" as multiple 5/10 shot groups were shot on the same target using non-match ammunition like CCI SV/Aguila. So I don't claim I "can get" 1/4" 3 shot groups at 50 yards rather claim "I got" 1/2"-3/4" composite average groups at 50 yards. :)

Thanks for the information. I was shooting small bits of clay pigeons at 100y. At a later point I will try to show a picture of a target with my grouping and list the round count.

I have 4 10/22s. One with laminated stock, heavy bbl. Volk. hammer and springs, bolt release, 4-12 Simmons. Others are stock looking, 2 carbines with Walnut, one has a red dot, one peep sights, DIY trigger jobs on both as well as bolt release. 4th is a Deluxe Sporter with BX trigger and a 2-7 Leupold scope. The one that's shot most is the one with the peep sight, love it. Walnut carbine stocks were bought used to replace the birch or what ever Ruger puts on them now. The 3 with factory bbls shoot pretty good. Would be more than accurate enough for Bushy tails or cotton tails out to 50 yds or a bit beyond. Buy one(or 4) and do what you want to them, you won't be disappointed.

I'm not familiar with the Black Rain options. But some of the factory Ruger 10/22's are more accurate than others.

This version comes with the factory BX trigger and has a 20" target barrel with a target chamber.

This is very similar, but without the BX trigger and with wood stock. They are available in blue or SS. They used to make one with blue receiver and SS barrel. I have the 3rd option as well as the one above and I've installed the BX trigger in it.

IMO if i were buying a Ruger 10/22 these are the only ones I'd consider. With quality ammo either of these are capable of 1/2" 5 shot groups at 50 yards. At 100 yards 1" or slightly more is the norm. I've shot both as far as 200 yards at times and if there is no wind 3"-4" groups are possible.

I also have a Tikka T1x that will is more accurate than either. But these are more accurate by a fair margin than any other 10/22 I've shot.
I'll have to look into the black rain guns.

1/4 MOA, with high velocity ammo, at 100 yards? Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and call shenanigans
