Blackhawk grip frames

I'm curious - can a Blackhawk's XRED grip frame be interchanged with a Bisley-style gripframe? Does anyone make aftermarket parts for the interchange? Can an average guy do this at home or is it more complicated than I'm thinking it is? I know the trigger and hammer wouldn't be "right" - but it would still work, right?

A Bisley grip frame that has already been fit to a frame may or may not fit another frame as far as a perfect match at the edges. If you buy a unfinished grip frame it well be slightly over size and you well need to file to fit, or as I like to say "hammer to fit, paint to hide" It helps if you have some experience with metal working, just take your time and it well come out looking great.

This is a 50th ann .357 with a brass birdshead and Bislet hammer. Brass is very easy to work and no special finish is needed.

I priced those grips some time ago (about $200) and opted against them. That's roughly half the price of the gun. The grips can be made to fit well, but they don't just slip right on. If you aren't comfortable with some small but important screws and adjustments, I'd let a gunsmith do it.
