I am here at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas and was able to speak to Eric Rohrbaugh about Blackhawk's progress. Here is a section from www.shotshowreports.com
Many readers of these reports are familiar with the special friendship between Eric Rohrbaugh and a poster that many of us know as Blackhawk. Blackhawk ordered and received the second Rohrbaugh pistol out of the first production run. Last year he suffered a terrible stroke. Blackhawk is mentally alert and sharp as a tack, but his stroke has greatly impaired the bodies motor skills. He has improved much and is able to speak some now even being able to speak with Eric over the speaker phone, but still is forced to spend most of his time in bed. His wife is holding her own and doing the best she can to take care of him, but money is short. Eric had made up a special Rohrbaugh pistol that he was going to present to Blackhawk for all the support that he offered the company during the startup with the serial number BLACKHAWK-1. Since money is tight and it is doubtful that Blackhawk will ever be able to enjoy his new pistol, his wife agreed to allow Eric to auction off the gun and forward the proceeds to them to help in his care. I think that this would be something that many of us could get behind to help one of our own. I have offered Eric and his wife two round trip tickets from New York to San Antonio to present the check for the money raised from the sale of the pistol and to allow Eric to finally meet a friend that he has never seen. There is nothing finalized about this yet, so I would suggest contacting Eric Rohrbaugh at Rohrbaugh Firearms for more information if you are interested in helping one of our own.
