All I can say is, 'WOW!!!' Blackhawk is progressing better than anyone ever expected or hoped for. His bleed was in the brainstem and has only affected motor skills, it has become apparent that his mind was not affected. He told Martha that he even remembers all his forum passwords, including the one for THR. He is undergoing intense physical and speech therapy both of which are going well. This past week he was undergoing physical therapy and THEY WERE HELPING HIM WALK!!!!! The therapist told him that he was making amazing progress. His verbal response was, 'You just wait until tomorrow.' The progress he has made is nothing short of phenominal. Eric Rohrbaugh is sending another packet of posts to Martha on Monday for her to show Blackhawk and he is expected to make his own statement for me to post on the board at the end of the week. He would do it himself, but does not currently have access to a computer, I guess the hospital doesn't like patients surfing the net. At least this would give him an opportunity to respond to all of us.

This is wonderful news and I know that we all hope to see the Blackhawk handle on some new posts in the near future. Hang in there Bob, everyone is pulling for you.

Good Lord.

This isn't amazing, it's a miracle.

People who have brainstem strokes rarely have impaired mental facilities as the stem is blow the area of the brain where those functions occur.

Neuromotor problems, however, are very common.

From the initial message, it sounded as if this was a pretty massive stroke. That he's coming back this quickly is really incredible.

Ahhh .... Jeff, thx ..... glad I spotted this, as I'd been asking elsewhere.

What GREAT news indeed .. my medical background had already told me much I'd rather not have known .... but cases vary and ... this has to be one of those few that has beaten the odds.

The progress sounds truly remarkable and so very pleasing to hear. I guess the sheer weight of numbers rooting for Bob has helped too .... prayers from many ..... strong positive thinking from me.

So Bob ... may be a delay until you can handle keyboard but ..... relay any messages you can, as soon as you can. We are thirsting to hear from you now.

You realize too Bob ...... you have kicked off quite something here on THR for Eric R .... no wonder he is so overworked trying to keep up with his schedule, to meet demand on the R9. And I am one of those adding to his stress!

Keep up the good work, slowly but surely.

to hang in, and keep that "drive" up... went through this with my Dad many years ago and the will to overcome is a big part of it. But a bigger part of it is the Lord's intervention, and our prayers will remain with him until he's up & runnin again.
