It has been a little over a week now that Bob (Blackhawk) Jensen had his terrible stroke. He was not doing well, but is progressing better than anyone had hoped for. The doctors and nurses have called his progress nothing short of a miracle. If you remember last week all he had was eye movement and that was considered involuntary. His wife, Martha, says that he recognizes her now and when she asked him if he liked the TV on he grunted a negative response to her. He is also tapping his foot for yes and no. He is on a feeding tube and Weds. evening at 1800 he went in for a tracheotomy because the feeding tube can irritate the throat after long periods and cause it to swell.

Eric Rohrbaugh at Rohrbaugh Firearms told Martha about the thread here on THR with its' 140+ responses and 5000+ views. She was amazed by the outpouring of care and prayer from all these people who have never even met her husband. Eric printed off all the responses and FedEx'd them to her overnight so she could read them. She says the prayers are working and to keep them coming.

This board plays a big part in a lot of our lives, I think more than any of us realize. For the people not familiar with our little THR community this is simply amazing. Martha has fielded calls from as far away as Europe and Australia from people inquiring about Bob and wishing him well. Bob is keeping up with the thread now because Martha has taken the printouts to his room in ICU and read him every response.

Blackhawk buddy, my prayers are with you and Martha, and when you kick this I will see you out on the firing line. First box of ammo is on me. Get well soon.

Wow!!!! GREAT news!! May be awhile; but I'm lookin' forward to his posts!

It's so good to hear that BH is doing better than expected. It's a testament to his tenacity and the prayers of the THR family.

I'll continue to pray for a speedy recovery, and for comfort to family and friends.

Great news.

Thanks for the update Jeff.

Continued good thoughts heading in a southwesterly direction.

Outstanding news!

Thanks for the update, and we will certainly keep Mr. Jensen in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the update. This was the first tread I saw on THR this morning. What a great way to start knowing that a friend is doing better! Wishing you a speedy recovery Robert. Your in our thoughts and prayers buddy!! When you get well we have some issues with "pineapples" we need to discuss!!! :D

Get well soon.

To the Jensen family.

I have personal knowledge of what your going through, my father had a stroke, and the gamut of feelings and uncertainty is impossible to explain.

An event like this is tragic, but it made my family stronger.

I was so proud of my mother, she stood by and took care of my father as he went thru the aftermath of this illness. Her love never waivered, the strength they both showed each other brought our family closer together.

If there is anything i could help with, i would be glad to offer my assistance.

Blawkhawk, get well.

Jeff, thanks for the update. To Bob and his family: Please know that my family are praying for you and yours. My kids find it fascinating that we're praying for a man we've never met, and they will be thrilled to hear the good news. May God bless you, and speed your recovery.

Thats great news. The power of prayer never ceases to amaze me.

Continued thoughts and prayers for his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time, and especially for him for continued recovery both quickly and fully.
