Well...maybe next year.

Stephan, has your style changed in the last few years? I could have sworn the stuff you had in 2007 looked a lot different.

John

sometimes my styles change daily :rolleyes:

I am always working on refining and keeping my style fresh.

I get really bored making the same knife the same way over and over

I seem to recall a really neat, sturdy LARGE drop point with orange micarta handle that I wished I had been able to pick up...

That is a departure!

I like it, not that I don't like your other work as well.

Unless I'm pushed somewhere else I'll be there early and be staying late.

Koa is a very nice hardwood. It can have a fantastic iridescence to it.
Mostly comes from Hawaii.

I wish I could make it to blade show but it's just not going to happen. Gotta work.

I remember dinner at fogo de chao with John and a bunch of other kuhkri fanatics.

That was a good time.

The bullwhips in the parking lot seemed a little dangerous, though! :D

John

Bottom knife would be a killer chopper in something like the Buckeye black paper combo shown. I like the protected choil area on that one. Gorgeous knives !

I saved this beauty from the fate of para cord wrapped handle!:banghead:
Gordon's Knife Rescue saves another from a fate worse than death.
Least thats what I'll tell the wife.:neener:

SAVED from a para cord wrap ! My first Chopper and I am grateful to Stephan ! Note he hid my pins! THATS custom work, catering to the client, which should be part of the Master ranking! Thanks!

An old German man I knew (G-d rest his soul) who used a big hard Arkansaw foot driven wheel with water drip. The slight hollow grind the old guy used on the final bevel was face shaving sharp. The modern way conventional bevel is at least as good and prolly much better as the edge lasts and lasts.
Anyway I presume if I get that Fowler knife that sharp, which is beyond what Steven wants to get into right now, I can clean up this falls chopping competitions which are limited to 10" blades. Stephan's knive's edge holding have been wonderful for me. I get them sharp with a big Norton Hard India which is 360 grit I think, then run them thru the South African contraption with 600 then 1000 diamond stones in it. The jig seems more accurate then my freehand attempts on a 12" Hard Arkansaw oil stone. Steven's edge on the S Bowie and Rough Duty I have used and sharpened seems just a little softer than a Mad Dog knife which are somewhat more difficult to sharpen and they are 61-63 Rockwell C . If they are indeed 59-60 Rockwell C as I suspect, that should make a good competition chopper if I keep it sharp between competes.
