Amen to that, the one I saw in a gun store rack was $$$$.

Lots of options and calibers are available for the right buyer, and the straight pull action is very easy to use. ( My straight pull Mauser 96 was a close out, I got it for cheap. )

Expensive, but well-liked in Europe where owning and shooting few expensive rifles makes better sense.

For myself, I find the R8's clever magazine system just too weird and expensive, but I sure wouldn't kick one of their K95 single-shot kipplauf rifles out of bed if someone gave me one.
