If guns "went off" without warning like they seem to tend to do in movies, I wouldn't carry one, either. ;-P

However, over here in reality, ADs are EXTREMELY rare.

Whenever the topic of me carrying comes up and I get asked, "Aren't you afraid that it's going to go off?" or the like, I ask them if they've ever walked into the garage and found that their car "started itself" with nobody behind the wheel, no key in the ignition, nobody pressing down the clutch pedal.

Nope, no agenda in THAT reporting, nosireee. The depth of ignorance and level of prejudice is appalliing. Buncha whole-wheat Twinkies, baa-ing about the evil sheepdog, rather than about the wolves. (with appropriate apologies for the mixed metaphors)

Bliss by any other means

I wonder what her response would be to:

SWM ISO SWF who has no objections to sleeping with a cocked and locked 1911 or two under the pillows.

Ideal date: A quiet evening of balistic conversation while loading with a 1050 Dillon.

If you have to ask...

  :scrutiny:
That article was positively painful to read, what with all the bleeting blissninnies, I could almost feel my IQ dropping as I read . . .

Conventional Wisdom: Before going unarmed into Paradise, one should be damned sure where one is.

Carrying a gun may give people a sense of security, but its value is questionable, said Grant Curtis of Share, an Orange County mountain bike club.

Kibbles and bits and bits!

I know I often have to chase down my guns once they start leaping out of the storage areas by themselves, start running through the house and firing wildly.

Trigger discipline? What's that?

I probably spend more time in the woods than most people here. Heck, until I got my GS-11, I was about 90% in the field. Now it's more like 40%.

I have never felt a need to carry a firearm in the woods for protection against wildlife. If I were in griz country, it would be different, but there is nothing in the woods in California I can't handle with my wits and common sense.

Now, some of the humans out there...

I'd like to see bikers Mexican carry in those stupid spandex shorts they wear......sorta destroys the whole granola friend of the earth image, doesn't it?

Although he carries one, Arnold said he is against other hikers and bikers doing the same.

I'm always amazed that people actually come to this conclusion. Of COURSE I'd feel better if I was the only one around with a gun, but in thinking about it, I figure everyone ELSE feels the same way I do, so I say let us all have them and be done with it. This elitist attitude of actually trying to enforce that tendancy (e.g. all the celebs you see spouting about banning firearms only to find out that they have and carry them) is ridiculous. The whole 'I meant ban them for everyone ELSE, I'm SPECIAL' thought process really aggravates me. :banghead: :fire:

Those spandex shorts have a purpose for mountian biking...just becasue we may look like lumps in em dont change their utility...

And theri is nothing mutually exclusive about eating granola, being a friend of the earth and packing a pistol. There isnt any political belief test on the 4473 is there..
