Shades of Bill Cosby!!

Tamara,
Was your comment taken from an early Bill Cosby Comedy record? The bit about how he was promised ice cream after he had his tonsils taken out. It is/was a classic bit. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

I had no problems, but it is one of the things that can occur.

ICE CREAM, WE'RE GONNA GET ICE CREAM.....taken from Bill Cosbys "Wonderfulness". First album I can remember listening to, at the ripe old age of 4. Loved it then, love it now..... :)

I'll chip in to say that Phantom Warrior described it pretty well. For a while there, I was a regular donor at Biolife, and that $50 a week sure was nice. I'm a heavy guy, so I did the full 880mL (890?), and it usually took me at least 2 hours from in the door to OTD. I don't like needles much, and looking down and seeing something stuck where they ain't supposed to be something stuck is a bit discomforting...but then I just look away and keep pumping my hand.

I wasn't shooting much during that period, so I used that money for gas and eating out...amazing how perfectly it worked out for that.

Donating plasma is a great way to pick up a little extra money. I used to do it all the time when I was in the Army. In fact I'd be willing to bet that almost everyone in our barracks building did it at one time or another. I did it twice a week for about 2 years(excepting time in the field) and never had any problems.

I did it in college, it has the additional benefit of stretching your beer money allowance, since you are somewhat dehydrated, the first couple of beers go straight to your head :D
Migoi, did you know that the elections are over?! Check the results! We brainless ones did pretty well.

Well, with all of the successful donators on THR, I think I'm going to give it a spin. However, I saw a new ad come out in the newspaper and it says that you make $150-$170 per month here in Tampa. I wonder if this is due to so many college students/homeless/whatever donating that the price is driven down compared to the $200/mo that others are seeing.

I heard at the DNC they were paying top dollar for the brains of Republican politicians...since they had never been used.

It just seems that way to the Dems because its so easy to confound them.

Phantom Warrior pretty much summed everything up. I used to do it for gas and smoke money between paychecks when I was making $8 an hour and money was tight, I was a regular for a few months. I didnt like doing it, despite being a good thing, because I HATE NEEDLES!!! And my job can consist of some hard labor. They'd tell me to keep the bandage on for X amount of time, and I'd have to double that. I dont know if I'm just a slow healer (I dont seem to be with anything else) or if it was the job doing it, its not unusual for me to have to drag a sheet of metal, weighing anywhere between 50 and 250lbs off a pallet to put it in a machine.
