Guns: an investment or money pit?

Its only an ivestment if you sell them. Most of us buy guns with no thought of every reselling them, at least not in our lifetimes. Years ago I bought a little Browning Buckmark 22lr 6 inch barrel from an acquaintance for $125. It was in like-new condition and hardly used. Recently someone offered me $175 for it. That $50 profit doesn't come close to the enjoyment this fine target gun has given me. That $50 would cover about one meal out for my wife an I, and only if we go to a cheap restaurant!

All of the early enfields have gone up a lot in the last 20 years. Stuff like mlm's, clle's, mk1's mkII -all the long lees. These used to be 250-300$ rifles In the early 90's now many of them can easily exceed 2,000$ if in good shape and matching numbers

Wives: investment or money pit? *ducks hurled frying pan* to funny but so so true a good one is more valuable than life itself, but a bad will cost you everything you own.

If you want money pit get into any of the automotive hobbies.

I got into guns because they're cheaper, they don't deteriorate from not shooting them and you can typically sell them for pretty close or more than you have in them.

posted via that mobile app with the sig lines everyone complains about
