Yet another "activist" who says he wishes to promote gun safety but really is saying he is at war with the gun lobbyists and promoting yet more gun control.

They don't get it. The violence they seek to stop is NOT caused by guns. Guns are just one of the many tools used in violent situations. Knives, pressure cookers - legs (people stomping homeless to death)...should we outlaw them all? Every single item in the world with round edges. Maybe we should ban lawn mowers so people don't get hurt ?

I tried to write to Mr. Bloomberg but of course, no contact information. Last known mailing address and email is in the Mayors office and as he is no longer mayor - a dead letter drop.

I wanted to offer him some better alternatives on spending his $50 million ...things don't change. Again, they want to treat a symptom and not the cause.

A supporting article to the above;

http://www.cnn.com/2014/04/15/us/bloomberg-gun-safety-initiative/

Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg plans to spend $50 million this year through his new group Everytown for Gun Safety to counter the influence of the National Rifle Association, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Another story from NYTimes;

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/16/us/bloomberg-plans-a-50-million-challenge-to-the-nra.html

Mr. Bloomberg was introspective as he spoke, and seemed both restless and wistful. When he sat down for the interview, it was a few days before his 50th college reunion. His mortality has started dawning on him, at 72. And he admitted he was a bit taken aback by how many of his former classmates had been appearing in the “in memoriam” pages of his school newsletter

But if he senses that he may not have as much time left as he would like, he has little doubt about what would await him at a Judgment Day. Pointing to his work on gun safety, obesity and smoking cessation, he said with a grin: “I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven I’m not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It’s not even close.”

Led Zeppelin wrote a song about that, I think....

"I have earned my place heaven, it's not even close."

Wow... how can one even have a normal conversation with such narcissism, self-importance and just plain arrogance? Now HE's calling the shots... in heaven. I read the article in the times this morning and it was the kind of thing I had/have to let marinate for a little while but I had to comment on that one line.

Put in your mouth guards because this is going to be a fight.

The guy is a despot and an enemy to personal liberty and self-determination. People like him wipe their feet on the Constitution.

His arrogance knows no bounds. Humans were not enough, now he's going to tell God how to exercise judgement. Good luck with that one.

He can throw $100 million at this if he wants. I believe the general populace (regardless of affiliation) has no stomach for the nanny of the people stepping out of his enclave to dictate his personal beliefs upon the great unwashed masses.

Let him spend. Keep throwing money, good after bad.

It's kind of like the Cleveland school district near me. They think if you keep throwing money at something it's fixed.

It's not that the schools are bad. The kids have no desire to learn and don't care about school and the parents are the same way.

Well, the kids are still punks, the parents still don't care, drop out rates are still high and the grades are still low.

The only difference? The punks now have iPads.

Keep throwing away your money Mike, guns will be here long after you get your business class ticket to heaven....

and you won't even have iPads to show the effort.

It is just plain ridiculous

And it makes me mad. Why do these clowns insist on attacking some thing that is NOT the root cause of the problem ?

A gun is a tool. It can be used as a weapon. So is a knife, a bat, a bottle of battery acid. Even a fist is a weapon. Yet, they demonize gun owners.

You want to fix the problem ? I have a plan - have had one for a long time.

Start with our youth. Stop bombarding them with violence on TV, video games, etc. with no realization of the violence they are seeing. They are immune. Shooting 1000 people in a video game has no impact. Watching cops and criminals on TV shooting and it looking like there is little impact.

Train them in school. High school students should be required to take:
Gun Safety - Just like drivers ed
Anger Management classes - Mandatory
Show them "real" pictures of violence and shooting victims
Make bullying a no tolerance thing in every school and make it a crime - for the kids and the parents

More later....

It is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. — Mark 10:25 (ASV)

Good luck with that, Mikey.

From WebMD:
http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/narcissistic-personality-disorder

Narcissistic personality disorder is one of a group of conditions called "Cluster B" or "dramatic" personality disorders. People with these disorders have intense, unstable emotions and a distorted self-image. Narcissistic personality disorder is further characterized by an abnormal love of self, an exaggerated sense of superiority and importance, and a preoccupation with success and power. However, these attitudes and behaviors do not reflect true self-confidence. Instead, the attitudes conceal a deep sense of insecurity and a fragile self-esteem. People with narcissistic personality disorders also often have a complete lack of empathy for others...There is no known cure for narcissistic personality disorder,...

Mikie Bloomberg clearly has a mental disease or defect sufficient to prevent him from filling out a Form 4473 truthfully. If he has one of the rare for normal people to get, NYC permits, he ought to be prosecuted by the G.

This is just another case of someone who is clearly defective and a threat to society, using his Midas-type wealth to promote his inane ideas.

And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Mt 19.24 KJV

I say there is no gun problem as the proggies define it. The genuine gun problem is the pack of proggie infringements.

Lord Bloomberg has VASTLY more money than the NRA, he has recently said in an interview that he can outspend the NRA, and with todays announcement it is more clear than ever that he has made it a personal crusade to impose gun bans on the whole nation.

It is truly sad that one man alone can sway influence to the detriment of millions, but unfortunately, his kind of money buy a LOT of influence.

Ive said it before and ill say it again, this man is going to be our number one enemy...and a grave threat to liberty...until the day he dies. Its gonna be a battle

Also i love how the media and harry reid goes on and on and posts article after article about the 'evil Koch brothers' and how they are trying to 'buy elections' and are 'unamerican' due to their political donating...yet it comes out that Bloomberg is donating FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS to get gun control politicians elected...and not a peep from the media.
