Blown Primer in berthier

I Googled Balle N and came up with much information on the GunBoards.com forum. Basically, Balle N should not be fired in unmodified rifles. Those folks can explain exactly why. What's been shared here on these cartridges is supported in detail in that forum. There was a difference between bullet diameters among other things.

I have a problem with that blown primer. Are we talking about a factory overload? There still need to be some discussion with PPU. Fire form and neck size may be the answer. These makers, the English and French, were not bad mechanics. Those chambers were made that way to work in the ungodly worst of environments. Many of us have only seen degraded examples of French and English bolt action firearms.

rimmed rounds are not supposed to have primers back out, its the only advantage they have. Even with extreme headspace failure, the case should be split somewhere above the head, but hold onto the primer. I would suspect excessive pressure over headspace. Or possibly headspace so enormously excessive it amounts to an out of battery failure.
