I made what I thought was a low bid on a Blue Sky M1 Carbine at Gunbroker.com and actually won the thing. Not bad for $450 plus shipping and FFL fee. The barrel is bright and shiny and all the metal looks great. It is a National Postal Meter Carbine.

Blue Sky carbines were assembled out of imported receivers. Usually Korean loaners. The import stamp on the barrel were sometimes hit so hard they dented the barrel. The operative word being 'sometimes'.
The quality of the wood used for carbine stocks always amazes me. That's a nice piece of wood.

I have a number of Carbines, including a couple "Blue Sky". I bought them when Carbines were still selling for about $135.
At that time I would buy Carbines just for the M2 parts.

One of the BS guns was refinished in a light colored parkerizing. I was going to strip it for parts but as it turned out that gun is in fine condition and is as accurate as any Carbine I've ever owned.
As I recall the stock was junk and I threw it away.

Blue Sky Carbbines were not assembled out of Imported recievers
BlueSky Carbines were USGI carbines that were bought from Korean govt by Blue Sky Arl Vir. They were stamped with Import info "Blue Sky etc " on the side of the barrel. Some so deeply that they slightly indented the barrel and wouldnt shoot straight.
Most were worn out rifles with a new park job.
I bought one in the early 1980's for $150.00 that looked great, bore shiney but would pattern like a shotgun. A few years ago I bought a USGI barrel for it.
Hope yours is better

Yep, Blue Sky was the name of one of the companies that import our own weapons back to us. The barrel stamp was required. They didn't 'assemble' them - probably wouldn't have known how...:)

I had a carbine with their mark on it once. The mark was there until I turned it gone and reparked the barrel. Today I'd just rebarrel to get rid of the mark - even CMP is selling carbine barrels nowadays.
