BOBCAT Trouble

No luck yet. I've been walking the fenceline a couple times a day with a shotgun. I think I'm gonna try the trap again although I think it's too small. In fact I've seen one of the cats (are there more??) and it would be too big for my coon size trap. I'm looking for a bigger trap and will keep walking the fence. I was showing my wife some tracks and think I may have heard it two nights ago. Heard it run off in the brush. Too big to be a rabbit and didn't sound like a deer. Made kind of a thumping sound of paws hitting dirt as it crossed the neighbor's dirt driveway near the fenceline. The urine smell dissipated which makes me think it was fresh when I smelled it. For now I'll keep patrolling and counting the poultry with my fingers crossed.

Rolando, my Pop had the same problem. The bobcat became more and more brazen, much like yours. He finally caught it in a moments of stupidity and whacked it with his .257.
I agree with tying a chicken out with 3-4 feet slack. Then sit and wait. If he's that ballsy, he'll come around.
Trap him and move him somewhere else? Get real. This boy has learned how to get and easy meal and it's now a way of life with him.
I seriously doubt you'll walk him up, they're too smart for that. For anyone that's ever seen one up close, they're not all that big and I suspect that any shot size from #4 up would do. But if you hunt over a staked out chicken, you might want to use a rifle so you don't kill you chicken while shooting at the 'cat!
