BOG Shooting Rest Destroyed!

Ya mean like holding the revolver one- handed Olympic style? I shot a 500 mag X frame belonging to another shooter at the WMA range a couple years ago. He was convinced the guns were not made to be fired unrested. Honestly it was so heavy the recoil wasn't terrible shooting 2-handed isosceles style. With the weight of the gun kind of wanted a heavier trigger pull. Very loud even with muffs on. I'll stick with my little 44 mags
My buddy Tony (RIP) used to tease me about my wimpy .357 and .44 because he had a T/C Contender chambered for 45-70 with a 16" bull barrel. He passed away before he could convince someone to make him a .375 H&H barrel. I'm sure today he'd be looking to do a .338 LaPua.

I know a guy who thought it was a good idea to "point" a .22 Mag derringer with his finger along the barrel.

The muzzle blast rook off his index fingernail and did miscellaneous other nasties.

He only did that once, of course.

I myself got hit in the leg on an open-air range (no compartments) by fragments from a mis-timed revolver on my left. Wasn't bad, just a slap on my jeans, but I figured he ought to know about it. His attitude was "Tough Noogies," and I agreed with him, so I moved away.

Now I am neither very confrontational nor very vengeful, but it just so happened that in moments when he wasn't looking, I had four or five accidental discharges that seemed to pepper his target in a random manner.

A wise friend of mine once said "If you're going to be dumb, you better be tough."

Got myself once so far with a mod10. That sting of shaved lead was warning enough to learn me to keep my fingers away from the firey-blasty-explody bits.

Couldn't imagine the damage a 460/500 could do.

Barrel cylinder gap is right where the support fork is. Little wonder it got eatened.
