The blade is very good, the grip is good, the safety lock is stiff and louder than cocking a hammer on a handgun, and the release button is stiff, sticky & gritty like the surfaces are not properly smooth or polished. These observations are after I lubed said parts. Is this how they are supposed to be, will they wear in, can they be easily fixed by me, or should I send it back for resolution?

I don't think you can send it in since it's been altered to make it an auto by a third party so it has no manufacturers warranty. Mine comes tomorrow, I hope it's good!

From Blade HQ: "Automatic conversion knives are retrofitted by a third party to accept a coil spring. The factory warranty on these knives is void, but we do warranty the conversion/spring of these knives for one (1) year from date of purchase."

That indicates BHQ would be the folks to send it to. Most probably theyll open on, test it, and you'll get another
