Bond to carry the PPK again

I think there was a PPK in the movie. The other agent bond was with in Africa who drew in the middle of the fight drew a small gun with similar lines to the PPK

The first chase got my blood going for the rest of the movie.

Bond was also played as more human, more driven by success and ego rather than just perfect

Best Bond in a long, long time. They really did a great job reimagining the series as a serious espionage story with a three-dimensional lead character.

Daniel Craig was a great choice for Bond. A year ago, I'd never think I'd say that, but, hey, when you're wrong, you're wrong.

I liked the gun handling as well. Much more realistic than the Brosnan films where Pierce had the P99 in one hand, a subgun in the other, and sprayed bullets like a firehose. For the most part it was all two-handed grips, straight trigger finger, target acquisition, and they operated the pistols properly (he decocks the P99 after he loads it, he puts the safety on the Browning before he drops it, etc.)

Craig nailed it! (no pun intended) His performance was inspiring. Bond is back!

I, too, am glad to be wrong about Craig and Casino Royale. It was a great film that brought Bond back to the character he always should have been--dark, dangerous, and deadly.

I also liked the way guns were handled. With all the scrutiny and searches he had to go through at the casino & airports, carrying a gun would have been almost impossible. I liked the way he improvised, but I wish he could have concealed a polymer or ceramic blade for those “close encounters”…. ;)

When he did use guns, I appreciated the good gun handling. For someone who hates them, he did pretty well. Maybe there’s hope for him yet…. :scrutiny:

As a fan of the early Connery & Dalton movies, I’m glad to see Bond back as a 007 instead of a double-o-dandy. I may have to see it again soon…. :D :D

P.S. The P99 is way too big for his line of work. He needs to go back to the PPK or (better) the Beretta Tomcat when he needs to go "well-heeled"...

I guess I should have stayed directly on topic and added:

I too think Craig was great in the role (I like him as an actor anyway), and this is definitely my favorite Bond film. It takes a lot for me to say that. I've always defended Connery as the only Bond. Well, as the Buddhists say, "It isn't that everything changes, it's that change is all there is." :D

man, I hate to admit it. He was good! One of the best Bond films. Dark, fast, full of action and he was human. Great movie!
